This is a bit odd, yes. But, how would I start my own hosting company? What would I need to know? What kind of computer knowledge? And what kind of money?

By all means, start with a reseller account and find out if you even want to be a host. You can learn a lot from being a reseller and you don't have to invest much.

I'd say it depends on how many people you'd be willing to host. You could start out with the Bronze or Silver plan and see where it goes from there. Once you recieve more customers, just upgrade your plan. See how it works out from there.
