Interesting... i usually have at least 10 or so tabs open all the time with no performance issues... and gradually I go up to about 40 tabs when I'm researching different things on google. On a MAC: Same thing ... except it crashes more often when I'm streaming music but that's all.

Heh.. 15 is nothing. On a busy RSS/research day, I can easily hit the 40 mark. I probably have on average 6-8 tabs open at any given time at home with the latest webkit build (which should theoretically be less stable than Safari 3.1).

Well from the sounds of it, it could be just a Mac thing with the browsers. Wonder why? Anywho, good thing I don't use my Mac for anything major, or I'd be angry with my browsers freezing up every hour. -__-

I can't believe that it happens every hour... I run nightly builds of Webkit (Safari) for sometimes 7 days before I close it. Opera 9.5 weeklies have sucked lately, but even they stick around for a few days. And Firefox doesn't actually crash for me often, but I close it every day or two in order to stop memory leaks.
If you're crashing it more than once a day, it's probably something you're doing or bad memory. |

I remember Kayla talking about her Safari issues (even though she loved the dock icon) but we couldn't work out why it kept crashing.
Personally, Safari doesn't go ballistics on me & I usually have about 5 windows open with a several tabs open in them too. I'd like to say IE7 has come along way from IE6 in that it's not so bad anymore.
