This thread is a timeline for all events occuring to the server SH95.

Each time this server has an issue it will be posted here.

sh95 is under a severe DDOS attack of 300megs inbound. We have null routed (blocked) the target ip and will make websites on the server unavailable for the next 5 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience but at this time this is what we have to do to isolate the issue.

We believe we have found the target site.. and the block was removed last night earlier than we imagined. For an idea, this is how long Apache has been up at this time: 13 hours 32 minutes 44 seconds

The attack against this server started happening again tonight, we have had to null this server and take a closer look.

A site on this server was running a script,

%CPU 91.0 /usr/bin/php loadpage.php

Which was taking up all the CPU.

The site had to be suspended temporarily. The server should be loading normally now.

On Sunday, July 22, 2007 between 3:00 AM EST and 7:00 AM EST we will be performing a mail system conversion on the server which your website is hosted from. Incoming email messages will be received by the server during this conversion, however they will be stored in the mail queue and not delivered to your mailbox until the conversion is completed.

Incoming email will be received by the server, however will be delayed from reaching your mailbox until after the conversion is completed. You will still have the ability to send email (via SMTP) while the conversion is taking place. All other services on the server (web server, FTP server, etc) will also continue to function as they should.

Tuesday night, May 6th we will be upgrading PHP and MySQL to version 5 on sh95.surpasshosting.com.

There will be some minimum downtime past 12am EST.
