Hello,

I am using the most current version of phpbb forums and it was working perfectly fine without and problems.

the only thing is that no suddenly (after not making any changes) my mail to verify peoples accounts is no longer working.

is what it shows after I try and submit a registration to the board.

My new username shows up on the board, but no e-mail is sent out.

Cpanel is showing everything up on my server and mail is working on Outlook.

any ideas?

Have you first checked to see if you get mail from the forum in other ways???

for instance if you have in your profile send email when a pm is sent to you, do you get the email telling you there is a pm for oyu on the forum???

same with watch this topic/thread do you get the emails telling you they are there.

test this first and lets us know, that way you can narrow it down to only emails for registration not working or all email from the board not working.

nope, not getting those either.

Now I am getting even more errors and different ones from that which i stated above.

I just dont understand how this was all working and then suddenly it isnt anymore. I didnt add any mods and everything was working just a few days ago.

the e-mail address and the mail server is working fine for me in outlook. I can send and receive mails perfectly fine.

now i get this when i try and send PMs on my board

I am really in the dark. havent made any changes, anyone have any ideas?

well, since i have sent surpass some e-mails and their perl desk thingy, i was reading some more on the php.com boards and found a post about not using smtp to send out mails and such.

i switched it for no smtp and it works like a charm as of right now. I think it might still not be sending out mails when people post on a watched topic, but waiting for someone to post on one of the topics.

well I could not find anything to help you out but im glad you managed to sort it.

stange this is I am on surpass hosting and I use phpbb and have no problems at all sending out mail???

I would imagine I am using smtp if that is the default as it has not been changed.

as for testing the watched topic why dont you make a test account like I do and login as the test member and reply to the topic you are watching???

lol, yea thought of that after i posted that.

was getting late for me, but i did do that and used the e-mail through board function as well.


still just strikes me as weird since it was working fine and then it just suddenly stopped working.
