How do I find the Url of my mysql database

The title says it all (I wish more folks would use the question in this way, it lends itself to an easier search).
I am trying to install membership software and the setup page requires the URL of the database.
I can't seem to find it.
Can anyone direct me?
Thanks
Frank

Umm.. Usually with Surpass you're just saying "localhost". You can also say 127.0.0.1 if you really want to. The MySQL servers are the same server as Apache, so that makes it easy.

I've never heard of 'URL of the database' really.. usually it just wants localhost as H said.

Did they give an example of how the URL looks?

Hmm.. I wonder if it's one of the few programs that wants the whole ... mysql://user:passlocalhost/databasename

What application are you trying to install/use?

MySql

It's called PHPMylogon and it's supposed to automatically install itself when the information is provided. The question it asks is
"Complete URL to PhpMyLogon:"
Apparently it wants to know where I will put it in MySql

No problem. I think it meant http://www.yoursite.com/phpmylogon

Hope you find another program that works out.

Membership Software

Does anyone know of a free membership or login program that maintains a database on it's own that works?

You can take a look at this site for a comprehensive php based login system but without knowing more, it's hard to say. How are you using the login info & for what type of web site - have you looked at Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Joomla or Xoops that does user management for you.
