DNS Propagation
I recently signed up for Surpass Hosting, and changed my nameservers at GoDaddy for my domain, terrieades.com, to point to the new server (sh108). However, it is almost three days later and my domain is still pointing to the old server. I double-checked the nameservers at GoDaddy, (they were correct, as I copied and pasted them directly from my account information e-mail), so I was told that I should come to my hosting provider and see if it could be anything on this end...
Anyone have any ideas? |

Showing up on the Surpass servers from here.
DNS can be weird. Your ISP DNS may be slow to update or you may need to clear your browsers cache. If all else fails try flushing the DNS and check again.

Thanks!
Cleared the cache and it didn't work. I wouldn't be surprised if was my ISP, since I am on a school network. ![]() How do I flush the DNS? Also, my mail is also still pointing to the old server, as I have not set up e-mail on Surpass yet, and I am still able to check it. |

In Windows, go to your start menu.
Go to run and type in "cmd" without the quotes. Once the command prompt opens up type in: "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes! Should do the trick for you ^_^ |

Just so it's on the forum and searchable... On a Mac you can use "lookupd -flushcache" in Terminal to get the same result. For Linux, a Google search revealed "/etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart" should do it, but it may vary from distributions.

Problem again...after booting up my computer again this morning, my domain is pointing to the old server again.
Mail, (now pointing to Surpass), is working fine, but browser surfing is not.... |
