DNS...Again!

The other day, I posted because it seemed my domain had not propagated to Surpass' servers in almost 72 hours. A flush of my DNS and restart of my machine fixed this. However, yesterday morning my domain was back pointing at the old server. Flushing the DNS did not work this time. Then last night, all of a sudden, my domain is pointing to the new server again. Now this morning, it's back at the old server.

Any idea what could be going on here??? I know this probably is not Surpass, but nonetheless, it's getting rediculous!

Hi Terri,

This may be a problem with your ISP. For a quick fix you could try adding your site to your hosts file. If your using Windows, edit the "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" file and add the following to the end of this file...

66.7.201.40 [tab] www.terrieades.com [tab] #add a comment here

Edit:
Hmmm, it seems I can't add whitespace to this post. In the above line replace [tab] with an actual tab.

All ISP's use more than one nameserver, which, receive updates at different times.

Thanks! This seems to be working for the time being, but I will still be calling tech support with my ISP tomorrow! I'm actually on a university network...their DNS servers may not be their first priority!
