Our sales and Security teams are with very busy with this promotion, we are working around the clock to make it a pleasurable and problem free experience for every client.

Luckily we have a very devoted and passionate staff which makes everything so much better.

heres a scenario where a client would be suspended and would normally be very aggravated with our service when in reality it was lack of preparation on their end:

-shared hosting client features his website on a radio or tv promotion or begins a similiar heavy ad campaign.

it is somewhat the clients responsibility to make the proper accommodations for their website they are pushing promotions for. very high http access for one domain can bring down the whole apache webserver for 300-1000 other websites.

as system administrators and analysts we do our best to provide the best service for all of our clients. In situations like this we will reach an agreement with the client and generally suggest a different envrionment for their high access website (dedicated).

Another good example is a forums, or a poorly written php script. or exploitable mail form, the list goes on.
So you could say it is a challenge at times to keep up with some server maintenance issues. Sometimes it can be like hide and go seek (lots of searching and analyzing data) finding offending sites, or sometimes it can be like manhunt (easier to find).
Hope im not rambling on...

Why should my site be shutdown because it's being used alot? There's a huge amount of bandwidth offered at the time of signing up and if we use too much of it, there's an immediate shut down without any prior notice.

Right now I'm stuck waiting for a reply to get my site moving again on another server. My experience beforehand was being notified of the problem and still allowing me to fix it. I was able to access the ftp so I could get the site running online the next day without any problems.

The bandwidth is there for you to use, I was referring to more of the frequency of the resource use.

If you are receiving a million hits an hour you are not intended to be on shared. You are then exhausting the webserver putting other clients uptime at jeopardy. Sorry for the confusion

You clearly didn't read the TOS, you are only allowed a certain percentage of CPU usage etc. So, you may be under the bandwidth constraints, while over the other resrictions.

How am I suppose to know the CPU usage? In any case, I would rather have a notice about the overuse caused from my site and being able to do something about it rather than waiting for my account to be temporarily open to get my files.

Running a website, you should make sure that you have access to various scripts which would show you your usage. It's your responsibility to make sure that your site is running properly, and not hogging resources.

You're responsible for your content, and how it operates.

I can understand suspending the accounts of users with heavy traffic, however I feel they should still be able to have access to their data in one way or other in order to move to a new host

shouldn't it be possible to give these users access to their files without allowing access via the regular domain?

for example via a temporary subdomain / folder of surpass but not through their usual domain.

then they can at least get their files to move to a new host

Could you point out the scripts that show cpu usage? Cause I would certainly like that for future reference.
