Hmm, well, I just got blacklisted again on SH105. Have been for about 45 minutes now, and any downtime I've noticed (normal, not due to the blacklisting) lasts for maybe a few minutes. Would someone whitelist me please?

I have the tracert if someone wants it, but it points to the peer coring server again as the annoyance. The tracert is nearly identical to the previous one that pointed at the peer coring server.

Hi,
I'm on the same SH105 server, and now facing the same problem.

For the past few days, I've had complaints from friends that my site is either loading very very slowly, or not loading at all.
I sent a ticket yesterday, and one of the support staff replied, saying that problem has been resolved.

But this morning, the problem happened again. In fact, it was so drastic that a friend of mine was able to load my page at around 8am, and by 9am, she couldn't anymore. When I sent another mail, with tracert and IP, the reply i got back was simply that her IP has been added to whitelist!
I don't understand why is it that her IP was blocked in the first place?

Now I myself can't access the site at all, and I've been using the same connection to manage the site for the past 4 months!!

I'm worried over this, because the server seems to be randomly blocking IPs at will

been using surpass for almost a year now, and frankly, this is the first time I've ever had such frustrating issue.. so I really hope this can be resolved soon.

Just to add, someone else has replied, and yep, as expected, my IP was blocked as well..
I don't even know why.. the reason given was:
"The blockage is caused oftentimes by multiple login failures and high connection rates / activities that would be representative of abuse."

But it doesn't make sense to me, really
and it seems a bit strange, coz the whole idea of the site is to promote something, but how can that be achieve if the server starts blocking people?
and those who are blocked can't do anything because they won't even be able to see anything coz they can't load the site in the first place?

Am I still making sense? lol

Apologies.. it's just that I don't understand why the need to suddenly block all these IPs now, when a few days ago everything was still ok.

When I asked they never said as much, but you can put out a support ticket for another website. Go to the helpdesk and open a ticket for sh105; that's how I got unblocked. You'll need to know your IP address, so visit dnsstuff.com and check near the very top for it. If you open the ticket for the server you needn't enter your username and password, so you can just use "n/a" instead.

I hope it helps. I only check this forum once in a while.

Thanks wickedflea for your reply

Still having problem with slow connection now even though my IP has supposedly been whitelisted, but don't really know what else to do beside waiting patiently

And Marlov, I have the same problem too..
Friends complained that it takes a long time to connect to the little forum that I set-up, and most of the time they weren't able to make any post because server always timed-out..

On positive note, the support team does reply in a timely manner, which is really much appreciated.

I've run into this myself on several occasions. It would definitely help if support / management tweaked the rules to be a little more liberal.
