Limit on ftp file uploads?

I may be switching to the Power Account for shared hosting in the near future.

Elsewhere I read that Surpass limits the number of files that can be uploaded via ftp to their site (2k). Unless the reviewer wanted to simply diss Surpass, I find it rather hard to believe.

So...

It's not true. And I think it's been brought up before and I think what the review said was that you could only view a limited number of files in one folder in FTP. Which is the fault of his ftp program, not our servers.

Some ftp programs will limit the number of files it loads to view inside one folder in order to keep your computer from crashign while loading them. If you go into cpanel and click file manager all the files will load fine

Do you know if I can change that limit?

I have the same problem and it started about four days ago for me. I have the Unix admins working on it.

Mine started in the beginning of September (support ticket MGA-283473), and neither an explanation nor a viable solution has been reached. I keep getting bounced between Level 2 support start, who merely "restart" FTP services and ask to be notified if the problems persist, which they have been. Very annoying.

Yeah, very annoying. I'm in 3 level now, with the UNIX admins and they're doing a little, but not enough. They say my FTP quota has been reached, which makes no sense whatsoever, seeing it has unliminted quota and I know for a fact I haven't used up my 400GB of space yet. So now I have to create new FTP accounts and upload through them. But I still can't upload through Dreamweaver, it just times out when I try files bigger than 50-100-500MB, small files no problem. I have to use FileZilla now, because it has that nifty resume feature. And it does it resume? Oh, yes. For a file 200MB big, it resumes 9 times. *pout* I want things back to normal.

I use FireFTP and CuteFTP, and my uploads will get to 99% before they hang, and then my ftp client will disconnect, reconnect and then try to upload again from the beginning! I am not a happy camper at the moment.
