a question~

For the web, I want directory to be an ip not a subdomain. I dont know if u understand, I can easily redirect with a domain name but the top bar will still be marked as a subdomain if I does.

ex: sometype www.mmogamerz.net
it goes to domaindirect.com.... serverwait , and redirect me to the subdomain.
mmogamerz.freehostia.com

I bought an decicated ip to keep mmogamerz.net/mydirectoryex install.php?=index

So what im thinking is that I dont want a subdomain under sjmik, I want you to make me as a domain.

Cause a domain name is alway redirecting to an ip.

ex: For sjmik.com , you paid for the domain name to be redirected the the ip your site is hosted at.

does that make sense? and is that possible to do under a shared hosting plan?
thanks

This posted in the shared hosting section so I am going to assume you are on shared hosting. If I understand you correctly you want to access your site with just an IP address without sing the domain name. Am I right?

If so then that is not entirely possible because the shared server you are on is the IP address and all other users that are on the same server as you also use that same IP address. Thus using only the IP address would get you to the root of the shared server and not your specific account.

You could do the IP address followed by a slash and your user name like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/~username

I think you may be talking about an a-record
An a-record points a hostname in your DNS to an IP

support can create one of these for you. You will not have access to modify your zone file on a shared server
