Limit a folder monthly bandwidth
I'd like to limit a folder monthly bandwidth because I want to upload some mp3 files to this folder and I don't want to leave my web with no monthly bandwidth.
Is it possible to do this in a shared hosting plan? if service not provided is there any software to limit a folder bandwidth? |

Sorry, there is no way to do that at the moment. Also, if you plan on uploading MP3s to your account, please make sure that you have permission to distribute them. . .

well, yes there is software that will do it, however shared accounts dont generally offer the capability of installing such software
If you had root on the server, you could install/use mod_bandwidth, but as i said, you wont be able to install this with a shared hosting account. |

There are a few apache 2 modules that can do this but support won't install them for you if it is a shared server, you will need a dedicated server.
This is really something you need root access to accomplish. The only real "work-around" I can think of is getting a reseller account and creating accounts for subdomains.

I think a reseller account is too much for my web by now. I'm using wordpress, I thought that maybe there was a plugin or a script, I don't know. |

Not a problem. The real problem is just that root is the only user that would have access to check bandwidth usage

Nope, we don't have that functionality with cPanel at the moment, and we cannot install custom modules in a shared environment. You're best off getting a reseller account and creating a secondary account for the MP3s alone.
