server name & URL access to site while domain nameservers are being updated

Hello there!

I just signed up for the Holiday Special today! I'm real excited with moving my domain to Surpass. I've heard nothing but great things about you guys (thanks to the gentle prodding from ceo).

Anyway, I've got a couple questions... I searched the forums first, but I couldn't find what I was looking for (based on the words that I was using).

1) What server am I on? I didn't see it on my welcome letter or anywhere in cPanel.

2) When I access my IP address, I get some default splash page. It says "Great Success! Apache is working on your cPanel and WHM Server." It has a teal blue background with white and orange text. I try to navigate to one of the subfolders and I get a 404 not found. Should I be able to access my site using the IP address? At the root of public_html, I uploaded an index.php page. It's not a good index.php page since I haven't restored the database for that blog, but I think I should see something else other than this Great Success! page.

3) When I moved my databases, I did a restore instead of creating a new one. Was that okay?

4) Lastly, when I created my users to those databases, I get an error (I blanked out certain things with [hidden]) :

Connection Strings Perl $dbh = DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:daysies_[hidden]:localhost","daysies_[hidden]","<PASSWORD HERE>"); PHP $dbh=mysql_connect ("localhost", "daysies_[hidden]", "<PASSWORD HERE>") or die ('I cannot connect to the database because: ' . mysql_error()); mysql_select_db ("daysies_[hidden]");

Thanks so much in advance!!!

1) you're on SH132

2) make sure you access the site as http://72.29.71.55/~daysies/
This displays whatever is in the public_html folder so you dont need to add that to the end.

3) restoring is fine

4) Those messages are fine. That isnt' an error message
