is it normal for the cpanel to...
is it normal for the cpanel to have a certificate error?
i have it on mine when i go to my yourdomain.com/cpanel it directs me to https://bacon.surpasshosting.com:num.../x3/index.html

No it is not normal. I had that error before but I talked to support and they help solved the problem. I advise you to do the same if you haven't done so yet.

well actually now you should be at least getting the pop up stating the certificate is being used and then you will be directed to login using the secure port 2083 (cpanel) or 2087 (whm) so that your logins are secure. Other wise your username/password will be shown in plain text and that wouldnt be secure. Simply hit the okay, and you will be taken to the secure login box.
