I know no chat scripts/programs are allowed on a Shared account. My questions are, is a program such has LivePerson or SightMax considered in this group??
I am looking to have a Mon-Fri 8am-8pm support/questions for a companies website. General questions about pricing and services offered. Right now we are trying out a trial version of LivePerson which is hosted on their server. Unfortunately they want $99/month to continue this. The chat would never be busy enough to warrant this so alternate options are needed. I currently have a Power and an OC5 account. Can either of these accounts have a similar program running on it?

Viewed 36 times but no answer?
I know I put in a support ticket but I want an actual answer, not just a copy and paste about "All Chat scripts are banned..."

i am not a surpassie but i am thinking that script constitutes a chat script. Even though it may be seldom used, i think it probably would use enough resources to not be acceptable. you probably need confirmation which i cant give.
However you did ask for alternatives and as that hosting for the chat is 99 a month alone, an alternative is getting a dedi or a vps which may save you money plus having full control over your domain and giving you a ton more options. HTH

Here's a free solution.
Meebo.com is a web based chat service that allows you to use aol/aim/msn, etc. In addition, you can create your own meebome chat applets. I have one on my website, and it works pretty well. Take a look. http://www.kcpcguy.com

At one time "Live Help" were an exception to the no chat policy. See posts 17 & 18 in the following thread...
Chat programs are NOT allowed I'm not sure if this is still true. Maybe you'll get a definitive answer from your open ticket. However, with this being said, I believe the real test will be if the script uses too may Server resources. If so, you will probably still risk being suspended.
