Connecting to SQL via dreamweaver

Hey guys,

I've got a hosting account on SH140 and cant seem to find the address for the SQL server so that i can use it in the connection information in Dreamweaver so that i can actually begin my development.

Localhost doesnt work btw... it wont let me select the databases or anything. I remember having the same problem when i was over on Netrillium and they did something and fixed this...

Was wondering if you could give me any advice?

Thanks in advance!

James

Hi James, the first thing you need to do is add your IP address in the cPanel MySQL page, under "Access Hosts" to allow access to the sql server from your computer. Once that is done, change the hostname in dreamweaver to your domain name. You shouldn't have any problems after that unless your IP changes again.

Localhost is just an alias to 127.0.0.1 which is the loop back address, so it would only work for scripts on the actual server, not externally.
