Question Coppertube allowed?

I was wondering if coppertube is allowed? It's an add-on to coppermine and allows the videos to be streamed. This is the site for it phpVideo - Online Video Conversion & Management Script: News and here is a working example of it: http://videos.ronaldoworld.net/displ...up&cat=0&pos=2

Hope to hear from someone! Thanks! xx

Hi mellow,

Unfortunately, phpvideo requires ffmpeg, which can only be installed on a VPS or Dedicated Server. Installing ffmpeg on any server requires a great deal of resources to run (while converting video), which would cause a Shared or Reseller server to have problems with high loads and slow performance.

Please consider a Dedicated server if you require this software for your site:

Hope this information helps you out

A more important question is there any type of video software that you can use to put personal videos on your website?

I wanted to upload and perhaps use wmp plugin to play them.

yeah youtube isn't always reliable and i hate their players...but i am confused I know we can't use like phpmotion or vshare but are we allowed to have flash videos via a .flv player from our own site at all. cause I have seen some references to that and members saying they use that so I am confused about the difference.

You're allowed to have an FLV player on your site. The issue with those scripts is that they convert the video and require FFMPEG to be installed on the server (which would consume too many resources).

So basically, convert the video to and FLV, then upload it to your site and use some flv web player to play it.
