SH133 - SSH Uploading slow

Greetings,

Tonight I got a very slow upload rate via sftp, about 5KB/s. I was wondering if this was a "feature" or issue. It took me about 15 minutes to upload the 2.6 version of WordPress. Anyway, can someone look into this for me, or see at least if I'm not the only one with this problem.

domain: jeffanderson.us
server: sh133.surpasshosting.com

Thanks!

Did you upload files individually or try the entire zip/tarball at once? Uploading files individually is always going to be slow -- it's not a bug or a feature; just how FTP works with a large amount of small files.

Well I use GNOME's feature to "mount" an ssh connection, then simply drag and drop. I just tested with 1 file of approximately the same size, and it seems to be *alot* faster. I guess I'll commit to memory that a bunch of little files = slower (I suppose due to overhead?).

Thanks!
