the www folder actually is just a link to public_html. I'm sure support can put it back for you (I don't know how to create it yourself)

I really don't think you messed up anything. However, you could submit a ticket to have it checked-out, just in case... (Also, if you deleted it in the cPanel file manager and didn't empty the waste basket, you can restore the original www folder -- but I assume you did this via ftp.)

I accidentally deleted my www link too, several years ago. I got it back by using the PHP symlink function: PHP: symlink - Manual

Create a PHP file with the following (Be sure to substitute your home directory, of course) and place it in public_html

PHP Code:
<?php
$home
"/home/user";
symlink($home."/public_html",$home."/www");
if(
file_exists($home."/www")) echo "Symlink created.";
?>
Then visit it in your web browser. For example, if you named it symlink.php, then visit http://domain.com/symlink.php . Make sure to remove the php file when you're done.
