Hi.

I purchased a domain name and hosting from surpass on Sunday and the name doesn't work yet. Am I being impatient, or do I have to go into my domain account manager and change the name server? The email said that since I registered with surpass it wasn't necessary, but the name servers in my domain account are different from the ones in the e-mail.

NS9.SURPASSHOSTING.COM, NS10.SURPASSHOSTING.COM in the account manager and dns1.surpasshosting.com, dns2.surpasshosting.com in the e-mail.

Thanks

Yes, I'm confused about this too.

I registered my domain with Surpass Domains tonight and signed with Surpass Hosting shortly thereafter.

When I logged into my account with Surpass Domains, managed the account, and went to Change Nameservers I see that Custom Nameservers are selected and that ...

DNS9.SURPASSHOSTING.COM
DNS10.SURPASSHOSTING.COM

... were entered as the custom entries. Should I change these entries to dns1 and dns2 as in the email? Should I change to the Default nameservers? Should I just leave that page alone?

And if I leave them alone, does that mean I don't have to deal with A and C and MX records and all that stuff?

In fact, if I am using Surpass for both domain registration and hosting, do I have to do *anything* in domain management, or will it all be done automatically?

I was in the case when I purchased a domain name and hosting from surpass. So I wrote a mail to surpass support and they answered this :

The info in the email is what you must use. Every time we get a new server, the DNS change. We just recently got that server so that is why the surpassdomains info has not updated itself yet. For your site and everyone elses' right now, it must be:

dns1.surpasshosting.com and dns2.surpasshosting.com.

You have to manually changed the NameServers to what was listed in your e-mail address. The nameservers that show up are by default, you have to change them, unless that is what is specified on your e-mail.

I left everything alone (dns9 and dns10) and went to bed.

This morning the domain name had propagated and I could use it. Very fast, very easy.

So far, so good!

I didn't register my domain with Surpass like most of the people writing in this thread, I registered it with nunames.nu, but I just want to make sure that I wasn't supposed to do anything in my Surpass control panel, too. I didn't see any mention of it in the email or on the help site, but I'm paranoid, and I'm just making sure. It's been more than 48 hours now, and even though I know I shouldn't start getting worried until after 72, I'm just, you know, paranoid.
