subdomain is redirection?

curious, why is it the subdomains I create are just 'redirections' instead of an actual subdomain?

thanks for the enlightenment ^^

that's generally what subdomains are. they point to another folder above your root

pare, just add your subdomain name then click add. thats it! Setup Redirection is not neccesary if you just want actual subdomain

nope, what I meant was the subdomain 'folder' is under my root.

Laibcoms.com
--> boards (folder which is the subdomain boards.Laibcoms.com)
--> animeillusions (folder which is the subdomain animeillusions.Laibcoms.com)

shouldn't it be like this?

animeillusions.Laibcoms.com
boards.Laibcoms.com
Laibcoms.com

almost had a problem if I haven't noticed it, coz there are certain cases wherein I have a subdomain "example" which will result to example.domain.com

and a folder "example" under domain.com
thus

example.domain.com
domain.com
--> example (folder)

in surpass' setting it's:
domain.com
--> example (folder)
--> example (subdomain folder)

which is a serious conflict

luckily I don't have that setup currently, but I already have plans for it...

that's where I'm curious, why the subdomain folder is under the root domain instead of above the root domain.

As far as I know, it's just the way CPanel does things.

But if you type something.blah.com does it bring you to blah.com/something?

When you type "something.blah.com" it will remain at "something.blah.com" in both the address and status bar. However, you could type "blah.com/something" and view the same site. Or, if you have a redirection setup, you have "something.blah.com" redirect you to "blahblah.com"

I have noticed this also. It also means google and other spiders find my subdomain as a folder under my my domain instead of as a subdomain. I put a robots.txt in my root to block scanning of the folder which is really a subdomain but I don't think the robots scan the subdomain at all because of this.

No, they don't. Unless you 'publish' the subfolder that way.

Spiders follow the links in your web pages, that is all.

if you've keyed in a link using the subdomain, sure it will be followed.
