canceling an account

How long does it usually take to process a cancelation?? I upgraded my account from Shared to Reseller. I put in a ticket on Sunday for the Shared to be canceled, but was just billed for it today.

I didn't know that you had to cancel the previous account, I thought it was automatic.

I wrote support about upgrading and they told me that I had to order the reseller account and then cancel the shared account.

It might be that since I used a different domain name for the reseller account that it wasn't automatic??

It most likely has to do with PayPal. I don't believe you can change the price of the subscription, so you just have to cancel it and start out fresh.

The account should have been cancelled by now, in all reality... But sometimes things happen. Did you fill out a cancellation form? http://www.surpasshosting.com/cancel.php
If you created a ticket, bump it by replying to make sure that it's in their recent bundle of tickets.

You will get the money for this month back, once the payment clears, so don't worry about that. I actually upgraded a couple of days after I'd paid for the next month (doing the shared-reseller upgrade) and I got to whole month back.

You can manually go into PayPal and cancel the subscription, but that does not cancel your account properly. It can get confusing if you cancel the subscription, Surpass doesn't cancel the account itself, and then you're technically going to get free hosting, even if you aren't using it... Best wait until Surpass cancels the subscription for you.

I did go into paypal and cancel the subscription there. I went into the client login area and cancel there. But it was still showing up as pending.

I did write support last week and asked them about upgrading from a shared to reseller account. I was told that I needed to sign up for the reseller and then cancel the shared, which I did before the billing next billing cycle. Durning this time, I was billed for another month.

Incase you missed it, support did get everything worked out for me. I was reimbursed for the month and now have my reseller account.

Apparently I did miss it, since you didn't quite say it before, only what we already know that support rocks. I'm glad you got this worked out.
