Billing issues

I paid for 1 month hosting to test out the service. I lost all of my original contact mail in a re-format three weeks ago, and so I decided to wait for notification that the month was up. Now, I don't recall checking any "auto renew" buttons, but I checked my visa bill today, and sure enough I've been billed for another months service. I'm a little irked by this. I'm even more irked by the fact that I recieved no notice.

The reason I wanted notice that my billing period was coming up is so that I could request purchasing a years service, rather than pay month by month so I can save a few bucks. I'm otherwise pleased with my service, but HATE the idea of anyone taking money from me without my authorization or knowledge.

All accounts are renewed automatically, because hosting is normally a monthly service. If they weren't automatic, we would have to track down and ask about 100 new people every month if they wanted to continue service and make it official?

If you paid with 2checkout, you would have received an email that stated you were about to be billed. Then you would contact us at that time to let us know what you had planned.

If you paid with PayPal, then that sets up a subscription. A PayPal subscription is a monthly or yearly recurring bill. I don't believe you get any sort of email though, unlike 2checkout.

Sorry for any confusion.

I must have paid with 2checkout, because I didn't use paypal. I didn't recieve an e-mail. In any case, what would be the easiest way to switch to annual billing?

Contact billing via http://desk.surpasshosting.com and ask about changing to an annual billing schedule instead of monthly. You'll likely not get a response until tomorrow, but nonetheless, it can be be done.
