Help please?
I'm new and I'm a little confused about all this. I don't really know where to start. I tried Uploading a page with my FTP but it doesn't allow me to. I'm also not sure where to upload it. In my FTP there is a file called 'incoming' but other than that nothing.
My account was just deemed active I've just changed my DNS at my registar. |

Welcome to Surmunity!
![]() Your welcome email should tell you how to connect to your account before your domain resolves. You will connect to the IP address and give your username and password that was listed in your welcome email. You need to put your files in the public_html directory. If all you see is an incoming folder, you are probably sitting in the public_ftp directory. Go up one level and see if you can see the public_html directory. If you can, then go into that directory and upload your files there. If that doesn't work, let me know and we'll figure out what is going wrong. ![]() John

Thanks. Yes I'm using the IP address to log in to my FTP. I tried using the file manager to upload the index page, but it when I tried to view it, it said 'error 404'

Usually it takes around 72 hours for the DNS to propogate. Sometimes it can take less (5 minutes), sometimes longer (a week).
