A couple of newbie questions

Firsrt off, I'd like ro say hello.

I just signed up for a reseller account. My first question is does Surpass use the WHM Auto Pilot script on their own site? The reason I ask, is because I have not received the welcome email yet, and I'm still "pending". Do they have to manually approve accounts or something?

My second question, is this...

I signed up for the $15 Bronze reseller plan. I thought I would have an option of having the WHM Auto Pilot script on my account. How do I get that?

Well, first off, hello to you too!

Welcome to Surmunity.

I'll do my best to answer your questions, though my answers may or may not be correct. In that case, I can assure someone will come along and correct me.

Surpass does use WHMAutopilot (or at least they used to), but they don't autocreate accounts with it now as a safety precaution. They review a new account request before activating the account. You will get your welcome email typically in about 24 hours after signing up.

How do you get it? I believe you can use the upgrade form to get it, or contact sales to have it added. The first question should be whether you really want it. I believe that its "best" feature is that it can automatically activate accounts for you, which not a very good idea given the number of evildoers out there that only need an account for a day or two (even hours will do) to do their evil deeds. By the time you realize that one of these people have signed up with you, it's too late.

Beyond that WHMAutopilot is a shopping cart. There are a number of alternatives out there that cost much less that may do what you need.

Also, once you decide that you're going to be here for awhile, have you looked at the OC10 plan? Best bang for the buck.

John

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Actually, the oc10 package is what I originally wanted...but wasn't it a lot cheaper before? The last time I visited here, was several months ago, and I thought it was only like $60 or $75 a year.?

The OC5 (shared) is $59 a year. The OC10 (reseller) is $159 a year.

No, and no.

The oc10 came out at $159/yr. I know because I switched to it as soon as it became available. It works out to be $13.25/mo, which is nothing for what you are getting.

The oc10 doesn't come with WHMAP, but I'm sure you can add it if that's really what you want.

Hi, welcome to Surpass.
This FAQ entry explains the account creation..
http://www.surpasshosting.com/faq/?a...02&id=56&lang=

If you order a WHM AP plan, it comes with the WHM AP license. You will need to email sales with your domain name to get the license, and if you want us to install it for you or not.

The OC plans do not come with WHM AP. Only WHM AP plans do.

And that's true, it was always $159.

WHM AP can be purchased by the month (or a lifetime license) for any reseller plan.

What's the prices on that?

And john, you said there are other solutions besides WHM AP. What would those be?
