New & Daft: cPanel
Signed up about two and a half days ago to host personal sites and the site of a friends, and I sound like the daftest person in the world right now, but exactly how do you work cPanel, in layman's terms right down to where I find it, because I am utterly lost.
I tried looking in the FAQ for the manual but when I loaded it it just kept refreshing around every five seconds and wouldn't let me do anything? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. update: many apologies. daft daft daft. just dug around in my email. Thank you regardless. Last edited by tendays; October 28th, 2005 at 4:17 AM. |

First of all, welcome to Surpass / Surmunity! Now to your question. If you're domain is resolving (can you type it in your browser and get to your site, even if there isn't any contect yet?), you can get to you CPanel in one of 2 ways that I know of: www.yourdomain.tld/cpanel or www.yourdomain.tld:2082 Either one should get you there. Your login information was included in your welcom email that you should have received from Surpass. If your name is not resolving yet, then you'll have to use the IP address of the server they put you on. This should also be listed in the welcome email. Replacing the "x"s with your IP address, type: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:2082 Fill in your username and password in the popup box and you're good to go. Hope that helps. John
