Urgent help needed renewing domain/hosting
Hello, and let me apologise for not scouring the existing threads before posting a new one, but I have a pressing situation I need to rectify as soon as possible.
Around a year ago I purchased the domain 1ke.us from Surpass at the same time as my (OC5) hosting package, and I desperately need to renew both. I received a notice about renewal of the domain in my non-Surpass webmail (which I hardly ever check anymore) and upon following the link, cannot provide the correct password to get to the account details. To my knowledge I have not changed this password, and cannot find any information to the contrary or evidence of a seperate password for the account I created to purchase the domain. I paid with a credit card and I would like to, if possible, set both my Surpass hosting account and the domain 1ke.us on a recurring yearly charge, so that this won't happen again to me next year :> I have been absolutely thrilled with the experience Surpass has provided me and recommended it endlessly to those who were in my position when I discovered it. I sincerely hope that the blindingly awesome customer service I've had to call on only once before can come through for me again in this, admittely, self-created problem. I'm not sure the best way to establish contact, but I'm hoping that whomever could help me has that aforementioned webmail as well as my Surpass info. I realize it's risky to post such an open invitation to potential scammers, but I hope that this can be taken care of by simply placing my account/domain on a recurring schedule without me having to provide the card info again, to work around that risk. Please let me know however possible, I will monitor this thread as well as both emails. Hell, you could even telephone me if that would be quickest. I really can't afford to let either expire. Thanks again for a year of sterling service and I look forward to hearing from you soon. |

Usually, from my experience, hosting is set as auto renewing. Have not used the domains, so I cannot say for sure. I think your best bet would be to get in touch with billing, let them know what you need to renew (the domain through the surpass domains, and then your hosting package. Make sure to let them know the server you are on, and the username on the server). You can use the help desk to submit a ticket, or email them at billing [at] surpasshosting.com
You might also try logging into Surpass Domains and http://my.surpasshosting.com and see if you can renew anything from there.

DewKnight, I've fired off an email to the billing department as you provided it, and hopefully they can straighten things out from there. I couldn't use the Domains tools as that's where I'm having this login trouble.

Just so you know, billing works the normal business hours (9-5 eastern time m-f), there are some people who handle things on the weekend though, just not near as many as there would normally be.
edit: Also, if you could please put your url and server in your signature (you can do this by going to Your CP). This makes it easier for us to check on your site if you ever have any questions or problems.

All right, the billing address merely bounces back telling me to file a ticket.
Can't fill out a ticket because apparently when I created an account for that system I was using some long-gone webmail. No combination of any of the passwords or mails that I use with any regularity will log me in to the system. I'm afraid to use the Password Reset because if it has some ancient webmail address for me that's where it's going to send the new password, thus screwing me even harder. I need to get one-on-one with someone who can actually directly input the renewal into the system and possibly update my Surpass-support-site account with my current accessible email address. As far as URL and server, I'll have to look up the server, but the IP (shared) is 72.29.74.91.

You try creating a new account, with a different email address (n hosted at Surpass, just in case something happens with the email). The Help Desk is the place to talk with sombody that can do the renewal.

Thanks again. I've filed tickets to Domains and Accounting, and this seems the most promising of the options I've tried yet. Hopefully everything will be taken care of without incident, and before the unthinkable downtime or lapse should occur.
