What I believe you are looking to do is an addon domain. If you don't have any already allocated according to your hosting plan, then you can purchase one here: http://www.surpasshosting.com/addon.php
Note: You will need to also purchase the domain name from your registrar.

i have a domain name and an account that allows for the add on, but i can't seem to figure out what the input boxes are asking me for. the second box is quite confusing and i'm wondering if it's my website password or a password related to my domain name.
Username/directory/subdomain Name: Password: thanks! |

I think the username/directory/subdomain name box is what directory that you want the new addond domain's files to be stored at. So say if you put in there "newdomain" then the files would be at /home/username/public_html/newdomain
The password, I believe, is what password you want that domain to have.. Not sure where it is actually used, I would think maybe FTP and the default email address would be assigned that password.

I too am having difficulty in understanding and getting 'Add-on Domains' to work. I am new to Surpass today, and tried adding a 2nd domain that is a 'different website'. When I added the 2nd domain, it shows up as a subdomain of the first site. So it looks like it is being set up as www.2nd-domain.1st-domain.com when what I want is two separate sites:
www.1st-domain.com, and www.2nd-domain.com that are not linked to each other. Does this need to be redirected? I'll go ahead and continue to try this, but I'm worried what will actually happen when I try to navigate to www.2nd-domain.com. Thanks for any clarification you can provide. TomK |

I believe that when you do the addon domain, it will create the subdomain on your current domain, and you can access it like that, but when you point the second domain's nameservers to the same as your first domain, it should show up like two seperate domains when your browse them.

Thanks DewKnight - it did work out that way once the DNS update made it through. Just seemed a bit different than what I have been used to on my other hosting arrangements.
