Please Can Someone Help!

I was following the tutorial I got through the email. I found it difficult to follow.

Now I seem to be getting this error:
Sorry, a DNS entry for twisted-barfly.co.uk already exists, please delete it first (from all servers in the dns cluster)

I don't understand. In my domain name account, I can;t even take the DNS settings I gave it off now.

I think i stuffed the whole thing up. I'll give someone a nice shiney penny if they can help me fix it.

(stresses!)

Crazy ? do you have a reseller account and if so are you trying to enter your main domain that you signed up with? If so you don't have to enter that into whm it is already setup. I did that with my first reseller account I ever had took 3 days to figure out. That is the only time I have seen this error.

Slow down. What exactly is the problem? Are you trying to create an account for your main site? If so, you don't have to. It's already done. If that's not what you're doing, and you're just trying to create an account, this message you are recieving means that it's already listed in a file on the server.

Hello David.

I think I misread the email, and tried to set THE account up, when the email means AN account. Fantastic. I think I understand perfectly now.

All I do is log into 1&1, change the name servers to:
ns975.dizinc.com
ns976.dizinc.com

and be patient? (I thought it would work instantly-silly me)

Then, to add on a new domain, which I bought to host another site of mine, I simply 'create a new account' as instructed in email, and log into 1&1 and change the dns for that name?

Exactly. Change the DNS, wait around. And the barfly domain is showing for me already.

To create a new account, you log into WHM (can be done through the CPanel of your main site) and make a new account. You'll have to make a package first though, which is done in there as well. I believe I have a new tutorial to write tonight.

Mine will rely less on the use of random question marks.

Wink

Thank you very much for your help today.

At the moment, my two domains are still showing the 1&1 signs - despite me uploading some temp css and index.php files I had lying around from old sites

I guess the domain is still propogating then?

As long as I didn't miss a step out, I'm pretty happy.

It was very simple to do once I had actually read through properly - I think because I hadn't had any sleep last night I was getting unnecessarily stressed! I have been looking at the controls and I'm feeling very confident with it now.

Youve been a great help. One of the reasons I chose to sign up was due to the insane amount of people registered on this forum, and the prompt response I got this morning. The staff at Surpass ought to be apprecaitive of this fact!!

I hope to stick around on the forums, perhaps helping others in areas I am more knowleged in.

Thanks
