Help!
Ok, I just registered my domain and signed up with surpass for hosting. I got the e-mail saying everything was ready to go but when I type in my webpage it acts like it doesn't exist. When I go to surpass and click on the DNS link it won't let me enter my DNS in, it says that that service is only available when using a default nameserver.
Any help would be appreciated! www.gradetulsa.com |

Ok, you should have something in the domain control panel to use custom nameservers, or something like that... You will want to set these two to the ones that you received in your email. Once you change those, it may take a few hours for the changes to propogate... Until then, you can always use this format to access your web space: http://ip-address/~username/
Replace the ip-address and username with the ones you received in your welcome email

Where did you register the domain through? I know that some places like to charge you for every little feature you can have under your domain controls, so nameserver switching might not be an option for you. I have a friend who is under the same type of thing.

There are a few different message boards that you can use. There are free options and paid options. For paid boards, I would suggest looking into vBulliten (what this forum uses), or Invision Power Board. Free options I would suggest Simple Mahines or phpBB.

http://www.punbb.org or if you want to pay for the software, Invision Board http://www.sidebreak.com ^ that's my site using Invision. Others prefer Simple Machines Forum, which is very heavy in the feature department. It does a lot of the same things Invision and vBulletin do. And of course there is PHPBB also, but I never use it. |
