forum and guestbook are just going to backup the database. Hoem directory will backup everything else. Full backup will backup EVERYTHING (mail, databases, etc) but is server intensive on big sites so I don't recommend using that one alot. You really only need to backup data that changes, like the database and uploadable files.

If I were you, this is what I would do (and it is what I do because I run forums as well):

-Make a backup of the site once.
-Backup the database regularly.
-Backup any files that get changed or uploaded regularly.

In your case, the forum files aren't going to change but the avatars/uploaded images and database will. So that stuff needs to be backed up on a regular basis.

Actually, this is usually the best place to find me. I'm rarely on messangers, and I spend the majority of my online time here. Plus, when it comes to phpBB I'm not the best with it (I primarily use Invision Board and PunBB), but I know a few users on here are so they would be better equiped to answer questions that have to do with it.

well k, but its not really for adding mods or anything like that... its mostly like if one day it gets hacked.. i hope it doesnt happen but we never know.. i htink its mostly to do with mysql and, phpmyadmin.. I mean if one day my forum gets hacked or somthing, cant i just delete forum directory and, reinstall the backups of my present database on a new forum.?? No!?

Actually, yes you could. The database isn't where the hack will come in from, but through the php pages. If your site was hacked, and there is a fix for the forum, what you would do is reinstall the forum with the database data, then update the forum software.
