If it's done in Fantastico, you can just go to that and click Remove. But you'll have to remake it again when you want to use it after the summer.

Installing a forum isn't difficult. But what I'm saying is you'll have to continue keeping up with the updates, even if you don't have your forum active.

Much easier to just go in and keep it updated and check on it now and then. Going back and setting it all back up can at times be a pain if it is a medium to large forum. It is is small no biggy.

And even easier to just change the permissions on the folder so that nobody can access the files in the folder until you're ready to put it back up. Then when you're ready just put the permissions back to normal and then upgrade if necessary. =D

well this is what i was told to do by the phpBB support forum.. They told me to edit out the file that says "this board has been deactivated".. I found the file and, the place where to edit it. Once the file has been edited out i will deactivate the board for whatever time necissary. The question is, will I be able to get back into my admin panel once I do this..???

Well phpBB allows you to deactivate your board from the Admin panel, but I don't think it's the same as editing the file. You might, you might not.

Best thing to do is make a copy the original file, edit the original file like they told you, and then if any problems or you want to reactivate your board, just replace the edit file with the original.
