DNS and view/access
Hello,
I just purchased both hosting and domain name from surpass. And from the confirmation e-mail, I need to login to surpassdomains.com and check whether my domain name's DNS is correct. But when I login, I couldn't find any info about the DNS. Where can I find and change the DNS? Also, I can view/access my site through IP, but not by the actual domain name. I see "The page cannot be displayed". Why is that? Thank You. |

Please put your server name and url in your signature, this way we can check things out from here when you have problems.
As for the DNS, you will need to change the nameservers from Surpass Domains to the ones you received in the welcome email (I am not sure where this is, as I don't have any domains with surpass). Once you change these, it may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 72 hours for you to receive the changes on your end. With some ISP's, it is instant, others it can take longer. Usually within 24 hours the domain should point to your hosting space correctly, until then, you can use the IP for temporary access. Please post back if you have any questions.

You can try to access through the domain name.
I can currently get to your site fine through the domain (even though it is empty). My ISP though, is one that updates almost instantly. If it does not show up for you, the only thing you can really do to speed it up is try restarting your router, or flushing the dns cache ( command prompt: ipconfig /flushdns )

edit: i did't notice that dewknight replied before me...
^^ Sometimes it can take up to 72 hours... but with surpass I've usually seen an instant result. If you have recieved your welcome email with your cpanel password i would give it a try right now. I can see your domain fine as well. |

Your only options are to follow dew's instructions above concerning flushing your cache and resetting your router, and if that doesn't help, then yes, waiting is your only other option. ![]() It may take your ISP a little longer to update their DNS. At least take comfort in knowing that it is working, even if you can't see it yet. Welcome to Surpass and Surmunity. ![]() John EDIT: My 1000th post! Only took me 26 months to do it. I need to learn how to type faster. ![]()
