Can't connect to subdomain with dreamweaver

I just created my first subdomain, and I'm trying to connect using dreamweaver. With my regular domain, it is easy to connect, I connect using FTP, to ftp.mydomain.com, the directory /public_html/ and my username and password.

But when I created a new project in dreamweaver and typed all of the exact same stuff, except ftp.sub.mydomain.com with the same username and password, it doesn't work.

what am I missing? Do I need to change the root dir? The username and password? the ftp site? What do I do?

just go to the directory where the subdomain pulls from

i.e. just ftp mydomaim.com like normal

and then just go to the folder that you setup for the subdomain
public_html/subdomain folder

No one said anything about phpbb. And why not? I use dreamweaver on everything I do without any problems.

Than they really have no idea what they are talking about. Dreamweaver works perfectly fine on it, just as any other web/text editor would. As long as it's not doing something strange to the file, you will have no problems. Using it to edit the code causes no problems. I've been using it for about three or four years now.

Oohh ohhh dreamweaaaaaaaaver.

I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain
