Ok im gonna ask again ... my forum will be closing in about 2 days ... now is this the right way to do it. ? I have created a new folder called forum and, in that folder added in an index file.. saying forum closed blah blah blah.. Now im gonna have to rename my forum folder to somthing else and, thinking of password protecting it.. (would that be ok to do?)..the reason why im doing it like this is because i dont want to change all the links on the site going to the forum. Let me know if this sounds ok ???

Why not just place it into maintenance mode and save yourself allot of unnecessary work?

you mean like disable the board in admin panel.. well no..
id like to password protect it for the couple weeks im gone..that is the real forum folder which i will rename.
