Are you running the most current version of MT? That particular script is a huge target for - as you said - spambot and scriptkiddies.

 Ouch, not running latest.Since all the track backs were trapped/blocked I did not realise it could cause other damage.

MT has to be updated FREQUENTLY. It's like windows. Windows is everywhere, so people write viruses and spyware for windows....
