No Server?

This is my first website and I created it for my wife's business. I am a complete newbie at this and am wondering if it is normal to still not be able to get to the web address after 48 hours? It also says no server when I try to upload from frontpage.

Surpass gave me:
ns1089.dizinc.com
ns1090.dizinc.com

web site addy wnyeldercareandliving.com

I have always been good with programs...like frontpage etc, but have never done any web stuff before. Any help from the basics on is appreciated.

It looks like you have been able to upload some files...

EDIT: I see you just posted this a few minutes ago. Your DNS servers have resolved and I can access your site. As I said, if you go to your domain, some files have been uploaded that seem specific to your domain, so it appears you have managed to connect via FrontPage or some other program.

Ok, I get a message saying nothing configured at ns1089.dizinc.com, but nothing at all when I type in www.wnyeldercareandliving . How do I get my page to be there?

You are leaving off .com! Try this: http://www.wnyeldercareandliving.com/ It works for me.

Thumbs up

What are you seeing there? Even with the .com I get:

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. Please try the following:
  • <LI id=instructionsText1>Click the [IMG]res://shdoclc.dll/refresh.gif[/IMG] Refresh button, or try again later.
<LI id=instructionsText2>If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    2. Select Automatically detect settings, and then click OK.

  • Click the [IMG]res://shdoclc.dll/back.gif[/IMG] Back button to try another link.

Your directory is displayed:
[DIR] _private/ 10-Dec-2006 05:22 -
[DIR] cgi-bin/ 10-Dec-2006 19:48 -
[DIR] images/ 10-Dec-2006 05:22 -
[TXT] postinfo.html 10-Dec-2006 05:22 2k
[TXT] who_are_you_research..> 10-Dec-2006 19:46 3k
[TXT] wny_eldercare.htm 10-Dec-2006 19:46 7k

This is most likely a cache issue. Have you cleared your browser's cache? If not, try that. If you still can't access your site, your ISP may still have the old DNS cached and it could take them a while to update this. There are some steps you can try if this is the situation but I am on my way out the door - others can help, I'm sure.

When I try http://www.wnyeldercareandliving.com/ I just get a index listing of files, such as 'who are you researching for" Looks like you are missing an index.htm.

Sometimes it takes longer for your domain to propagate across the network so that it works with www, but it seems to be working from my location when I try http://www.wnyeldercareandliving.com...rching_for.htm

Looks like you are using FrontPage based on the form. When you create a new website in FrontPage it automatically creates an index.htm file on your PC. When you publish via FrontPage it will move the file(s) over.

If you are using FTP to update your website, just create an index.htm file and upload it to your Public_Html directory (not WWW).

I'm heading out now, will not be able to give further info until later.
