Ok...here is my problem. I am having problems with my wordpress (again). I downloaded a plugin-Keith Mcduff's "catagory visability" and I had it for awhile, but it wouldn't show the posts within that catagory; so i deleted it and took it off my server; so then i went with Rich Hamilton's version instead; and when I uploaded his and activated the plugin, the plugin itself doesn't have a "tab" in the "Manage" area of wordpress. So now, I took his off of my server as well. My Custom Smiley's plugin were working PRIOR to downloading Keith's plugin; and now it isn't. it won't show a tab for the custom smiley's in the "manage" area either. I think Keith's plugin really screwed up my wordpress. I asked for help on the wordpress board, and they said I need to restore my database; and I have a dump (SQL backup) on my hard-drive but the backup I have was the backup I had before I got hacked. I really don't want to lose my current wp_posts that I have on my site right now, but I also want to restore the posts that I had before i got hacked as well. So i'm not sure what to do.

I think you should just be able to reupload all of the files, but not overwrite the config file, then you should be back to normal.... Make sure to deactivate all plugins before doing that.


Make a backup of everything first!

Thanks for replying! I will try that, hopefully it will work once i de-activate all my plugins.

I tried what you told me to do, and it didn't work. The "tabs" in "manage" still are not showing for the plugins. What do you reccomend that I do now?

Are you showing any kind of upload errors in the uploading of those files at all?

Nope, no errors at all.
