Wordpress question

I have a blog over at http://mattmill.wordpress.com and I am trying to decide if I want to move it over here or leave it there and point to it from my domain. What can you tell me of the pros and cons of moving it vs leaving it over there? It's pretty low traffic maybe 10-20 hits a day which is fine with me.

Why WOULDN'T you want to move it to your domain?

Pros: You have full control. E.g. Design, themes, plugins.
Cons: You have full control. You have to perform upgrades, etc.

It's an easy process. In your Dashboard, under Manage, you use the export function. Then on your installation, you Import it.

If you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer 'em.

I think you'll enjoy keeping it on your own domain. You've got much more flexibility and room to expand.

Am I better off using fantisco to install or just try and do a regular install?

I prefer to do it myself. I do not know how well Fantastico upgrades it when you go for one.

matt, it's so easy to install try doing it manually first. Just upload all of the files, edit the config file (and rename it so the word "new" isn't in the name) then go to your domain. It points you over to the install page and within one click it's done.

Thanks, I got it installed but now trying to take care of the plugins that match the way I used it on wordpress.com site. Biggest one I cannot find is the dashboard setting for blog stats. Most of the rest of it I can figure out at this point. I really liked the stats as it told me things like refers and search strings as well as number of visitors/day in both chart form and numerical. If you know what plugin does this I would appreciate the info.

There are quite a number of plugins which do stats.

I do not know which one wordpress.com uses, but there's a list.
