Question photo galleries

Ok, I installed Coppermine on my site and is it really the easiest gallery software to use? I was hoping for something simple but it seems like every time I try to upload an image I need to allow for some change in, file size, dimensions, etc. If I say image size of 3MB and want to include a video of my kids for the grandparents do I need to size it down or increase the file size to allow larger files. Could I just say 100MB and leave it at that? I have been using photobucket and youtube but was hoping to bring everything "in house." I am guessing that the only users are going to be family so a small group and I want to be able to link to a wordpress blog as well. I tried with my test image today and it was broken.

thanks,
matt

Right now I use Gallery2, and well, to me it feels pretty easy and simple.

Sounds like you run into the file upload size limit set in the php.ini. See the following for more info:
Uploading limit?

As for gallery preferences Coppermine is fairly easy to maintain (though I'm having some problems with it at the moment) and is, IMO, somewhat well rounded than it's Gallery counterparts. Gallery 1 can be a bit more picky, but it's main advantage is that it doesn't need a database to work. As for Gallery 2, I haven't used it much so I can't really say.

Thanks for the info. I will dig into it deeper before giving up. I thought it would be more straight forward "put of the box."

I am dealing with a very large learning curve right now and maybe this is more than I need to bite at the moment. I like the way lightbox2.js shows the files so maybe when I get things figured out I will try and add that implementation.

Thanks,
matt
