Please help
I have several questions, and other stuff:
1/ I purchased a one love shared hosting plan 3 days ago and still not received account confirmation or anything. I've checked spam folders, nada. 2/ Does surpass servers have python installed? 3/ Before purchasing, I sent a ticket to them and it took them over 24hours to reply, now with the 3 days and no reply for the purchase details and confirmation, I have to ask, is Surpass Support always terrible like this or is it only due to the sale? My current host usually reply promptly depending on the urgency rating i put on the ticket, but the 24 hour reply showed a "High" priority and it still took them over a day. I hope that its only due to the one love sale. |

Hey, Cheeky! Love the name! I'm pretty new here, but I thought I might be able to answer #1 and #3.
1 - The $1 promotion has been huge, so they've been a little backlogged getting to the new accounts. However, based on the support I've received in the time that I've been here, I believe they'll get to you soon. 3 - Again, I haven't been here long, but there's two things that make Surpass different from most webhosts. One, they seem to take pride in what they do. The fact that they connect all their users in an open forum like this shows that they don't have a lot to hide. Two, there have been some problems on my server due to the $1 promotion overloading the server, and I was actually pretty impressed with how they handled it. I came to the community, freaked out on the boards, got reassured, found out it was the promotion and it felt so great just to know it was unusual, and they were on it. Kayla helped me redact my ticket from the helpdesk because I didn't want to take up any more of their time, and even with the ticket redacted, two people checked in with me to make sure everything was okay. Hang in there. I think it'll be well worth it.

Thank you for the reply, ldschwalbe.
so what happens now? they are overloaded because they are getting many new customers due to the promotion. But after the promotion, the customers will still be there, so unless the do a major purchasing of assets and hiring new employees, wont the service be the same? Do you know of any announcements to that effect? another thing thats been on my mind is this. I purchased the one love hosting because its a great offer. And refered a few friends to it as well, but, i read in some post that you are actually purchasing 13months of hosting and that you pay $1+first month of hosting. I dont think this is true but could you confirm, if thats the case I'll have to downgrade my hosting. again, thx for the reply cheeky |

The only script engines that I am aware of that come pre-installed are Perl and PHP, at least on the Shared and Reseller servers. So, the answer would be no. With VPS and Dedicated you can install whatever OS/APPs you want (as long as it doesn't violate the TOS).
Is it possible for you or them to install Python on a Shared/Reseller server? I don't know. That's something you might want to submit a ticket on to ask if that's possible.
