Help Please- two questions- redirects and hosting

# 1. WHile I build my full PanamaWorldUnited.com website I am re-directing the url to an easy free site by google pages-
http://upsideartcom.googlepages.com/panamaworldunited

I know if I do the re-direct from godaddy, they have a feature of domain masking(?) where the actual mumbo-jumbo redirect url doesnt show, just the one the user typed in. Since I just joined here and should have the site up in two weeks I tried to re-direct from Surpass, but how do I do the domain masking? Is that feature available, if not I'll do it with godaddy, but then do I need to remove the Surpass DNS entries from godaddy for thsi to work.

#2. I picked the max option because I own around 26 DN's, only 3 are developed sites right now. The PanamaWorld United is the one I put as the main DN. My biggest site is UpsideART.com - I have it hosted with digitalinet right now and it is developed and my main source for my emails- Can I transfer the same email configuration for UpsideART as an add-on domain with the c-panel although the main site is PanamaWorldUnited? How?

I'm holding off on changing the DNS entries and cancelling the digitalinet hosting until I can have my email configured and delivering properly.

Or, do I need to purchase another Max account in order to configure the email for UpsideART?

Thanks so much,
CLaudia

(1) When your site is ready on your Surpass server, you should just update the DNS entries on GoDaddy to point to Surpass nameservers. You should have this in your welcome email.

(2) I dont know. Not a cPanel expert, but I have heard that Surpass support can move your data from one cPanel host to Surpass cPanel.

Each addon domain has email on your Max account.

Hope that helps.

Hi Puck- Thanks for responding.

I already changed the DNS for PanamaWorldUnited.com , but was hoping that domain masking, which seems simple, was a feature Surpass supports. If so , how?

How do I get Surpass to help me move info from the other server to this one? I can't find a simple "contact us" email anywhere. I guess the forum substitutes?

Cool

Hmmmm thinking about your masking question some more...

Are you saying that if your URL is something like...

http://www.mydomain.com/directory/su...tory/index.htm

you'd like to mask it like this?

http://www.mydomain.com/index.htm

???

If so, you can set up those redirects in cPanel.

If not, how bout a more descriptive example of your masking?

Thanks!

They should be able to help you from there.

Or even something like this..

http://mymaindomain.com/directory/directoryindex.htm can be redirected to

http://myaddondomain.com

Also done in cPanel.

Thanks again Puck-

Domain Masking is I have domain:

xyz.com

the website it points to is actually

abcraisedtothethird.com/with/abunch/of/subdirectories

I don't want to confuse my gentle minded audience or give the impression the site is illegitimate in some way so although what they see is the site developed at domain
abcraisedtothethird.com/with/abunch/of/subdirectories

in the url of their browser it is masked to only show
xyz.com

the redirection is working fine with surpass, but it switches the url the viewer sees to the site it is redirected to.
