Server?

How do I know which server I am on and if the server is having probems or not?

I just joined the other day and since then it seems the server has been down at least twice, for more than a three minute period. When I go to access my cPanel or the regular site to check on it/work on it through the IP, I keep getting "cannot find server."

Then I've been able to access my site and not the cPanel. I'm sure you get the idea. Either way, seems like its happened a little much for just signing up and I'd like to be able to check if there's a place I can check.

Just wondering if I'm having an isolated problem or if this is something that is being worked on. I would like to do some stuff with my cPanel, so I was curious.

The server you are on was included in one of the first emails sent to you after you signed up. There is a forum called Server Announcements in which you can find the topic related to your server. In this topic will be posted any server issues and the such related to that server.

You can also check this page for the current status of your server's HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, and DNS systems.

I would like to add something here
I have the same problem, last two days my site has been down three times. (zwammers.com)
I checked the statuspage and everything shoul be up and running (guess not :/)
I checked the two mails I received and nowhere is mentioned what server I'm on, it just mentions the dns servers 13 an 14)

edit: I had a look a the IPs and it seems I'm on Mango, but that one isn't mentioned on the stats page

To Find What Server You Are ON:

----

create a file, call it php.php

add this code to it..

Code:

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

then Upload it to your site. then browse to your site.. look at the second line, your server name will be there along with a whole bunch of cool info..

so it will be like http://www.something.com/php.php

Yes, I know now that I'm on mango, but that one isn't mentioned on the stats page

My site works for about half an hour and then is offline again. And if I mail to support to say everything works. Well sure it does when they check it cause it's always offline for some period of time.

I left my previous host because it was offline so often. And now it really doesn't seem to get anything better

I believe Mango is one of the new servers in the new datacenter.. (I could be wrong) and perhaps they havnt gotten around adding it to the status page yet..

im just guessing though.. when/if its down again.. post and if I am on, ill check it from my office

to see if i can get there..

Surpass servers are normally solid.. perhaps something else is causing your problem? or its the server.. I dunno.. Support should..

(p.s.) you should remove the IP from your sig..

mango was having some troubles with the Apache httpd server part. It was reconfigured and rebooted, and everything should be working good for you folks now.
