So I am wanting to upload to public_html. I see.
Maybe I should check a few more FTP clients out. Long ago a friend of mine suggested Smart FTP so that's a big reason I chose it as soon as I saw it.![]()

Oh, I failed to notice two sub folders "tmp" and "www". Do I go to one of those or just my "public_html"?
And I can push the thank you button all day, but I really do appreciate ALL of your help.

Always to the public_html folder for your site and sub folders under it.

There are several recommended FTP programs in the Surpass Wiki.

Just a (hopefully) quick question. My home page should be titled "index.html", right? I opened my FTP client and uploaded my index page to "public_html"
Am I supposed to do anything under the sub-folders in public_html? I have one that is labled _private, a few labled _vti_something, a cgi-bin, images, vti_inf.html, index.html (the one I added) and postinfo.html. I just wasn't sure if my index page goes right where it is or into one of those other folders. Hopefully I haven't confused you. ![]() Thanks so much!

I should have added this to my previous post, but when I go to my actual website, it's just a blank page, lol. This leads me to believe that I've not put my index in the right place or that I've labeled it wrong.

If you use Firefox, try FireFTP

Does your ftp program go to your "home" folder or into your public_html folder? If it goes to your "home" folder then you need to open the public_html folder and then upload your website files in there.
