This question makes me feel so stupid...
And to think I claimed myself to be not so much of a moron...
![]() I'm just not sure what to do. I'm still waiting for my site to show up, however I used the IP address to get to the cPanel x. What's the first thing I need to do? Do I download a content manager? I previously used godaddy (yuck) and uploaded my web content/files directly to my FTP. I was looking for a way to do that with surpass and I can't figure it out. There are so many files and stuff that I was confused. Now I'm just waiting here for someone to go all elementary school on me and tell me what to do. (I'm not so good with the lingo, but I'm reading and learning it to get better, lol.) Can anyone help? ![]()

Well, if you have your IP and your username and password..
Use your favorite FTP client and upload your content to your the public_html folder... Then you should be good to go. You can check by going to http://ip address/~username/ I assume you are waiting for your DNS to update to Surpass.

Yes, thank you.
I am waiting for it to update. My favorite FTP client, eh? I'm rolling my eyes, but not at you, lol. I'll get started. Thanks again.

I have used WS_FTP LE since the 90s. I love it. I upload text files in ASCII mode, and images in BINARY. It doesn't get any simpler.
http://oldversion.com/download.php?i...854f21328c5c7c Maybe I am too old school when it comes to what FTP program I use.. but I am just so used to it. Maybe too used to it. I hear that the Fire FTP (?) for Firefox is nice.

I downloaded my favorite FTP client, lol. It happened to be the first one I came to when I googled "FTP Client". I watched the tutorials to learn how to use it- no problem there. It was simple. However, I'm not sure which folder to upload my files to. Do I use the "public_ftp"? It has a folder under it called "incoming". The next folder is "public_html.. I could go on.
Any advice?

I think SmartFTP is probably better... it's one of the most popular ones. You could download the one I use too.. but it may seem like a blast from the past compared to SmartFTP. It looks kind of old. :x But I have such fond memories.
But hey - if you have two, and one doesn't work, you can try the other. Those things happen sometimes. Doesn't hurt to have Plan B. ![]()
