Add-On Domain Questions/Help
I'm back, please don't cringe.
![]() My site has been up for almost one month now and I'm very happy. Thanks surpass! My new question pertains to an add-on domain. I am using SohoLaunch (I LOVE IT) which is a very simple CMS that lets me add content directly to my site without having to use an FTP all by myself. I would like to use SohoLaunch for the add-on domain also. I watched the tutorial for creating a new domain, but it didn't answer my question. Surpass Add-On Domain info states: "...keep in mind that the extra sites will not have access to a personal cPanel login; only the main site (that you type in when you sign up) will receive cPanel access." My question is how do I create an add-on and incorporate SohoLaunch? As of now, I go directly to my SohoLaunch admin to access my site. I'm just a little confused here. Thanks everyone for all of your help!

hiya, well normally where would you install the soholaunch (what directory??). When you create an addon domain, with cPanel 11 you can create it on two levels, either within the public_html of the main domain (it will appear as a folder called what ever precedes your TLD) or you can create it on the same level as your main domain which will be under /home/username rather than /home/username/www.
Either way, you will just need to load the soholaunch in the same directory that you normally would for the main domain, but in the folder for the addon domain. I hope that it wasnt too confusing.

SohoLaunch is installed in the root directory of my website. I had to get my account reset a month ago so I could start using it. And I think I know what you mean by saying, "Either way, you will just need to load the soholaunch in the same directory that you normally would for the main domain, but in the folder for the addon domain...."
Lol, whats the worst that could happen? ![]()

I went ahead and signed up for the add-on domain. When I go to Fantastico from my cpanel and click on Pro Edition (SohoLaunch) it says this:
Only one instance of this script can be installed! You need to remove the existing installation in order to re-install."I don't want to remove anything. I understand that it says this because I'm using it on my main website. I decided to leave Pro Edition and go to the Content management area. Looking through them I chose php WebSite. I clicked install and I'm to choose which domain I'd like it to be added to. Do I use myadd-onsite.my domain.com or just myadd-onsite.com? And into what directory? It seems that I wouldn't leave it blank because then it would try to install into the root directory of my main site. Darn it Jim, I've confused myself. ![]()
