This guy usually has rackmount stuff pretty cheap. Might be worth a look. I've bought servers and whatnot from him before.

My recommendation if you end up building your own: DO NOT GO CHEAP ON THE CASE AND PSU. I'm currently working with a couple of 2U cases that I got on the cheap (read: free) and it's been nothing but a huge pain in my ass. I'm about ready to just sell them on Craigslist and use the proceeds to buy a real case. :/
