Configuring Windows Mail with Surpass E-mails

I have four e-mail addresses on my surpass VPS, that I use for each of my four sites. My new computer running Vista came with Windows Mail, and I was hoping someone could tell me how to set it up.

I know what the manual settings are for the e-mail, but I don't think I'm doing it right.

Something in the back of my mind says that the default Vista mail client can only access a single email address (reply as/ from etc.) account and to have more than one configured at a time you must submit to the microsoft cunning plan....buy outlook.

I may have to mess around with my vista machine.... I'm a webmail user through google hosted mail, so I havent used the default mail app in Vista.

Outlook express used to allow multiple accounts to send and receive....

I just did this and it works the same as Outlook Express. In Mail, go to Tools|Account| and then click Add. After you add all of your accounts, when you send mail, you can click on the 'From' box and it will allow you pick an account to send from.

I think you can still see multiple accounts but you cannot have multiple identities eg. send as ab.c or de.f

I think you get two free options:
1. Use separate Windows user accounts.
2. Have multiple email accounts under one user, but redirect incoming mail into separate folders using message (filter) rules.

Otherwise (no guarantees made....) WMIDs

To me Windows Mail is exactly the same as Outlook Express. Unfortunately they forgot to make any changes besides the name. :\

Never seen Vista (gasp) but I suspect they probably just changed the name of Outlook Express to Windows Mail to avoid the confusion between Outlook Express and "Outlook" that is usually installed with MS Office. Two totally different applications with different capabilities. But having never seen Windows Mail, I can't really confirm how close it is Outlook Express.

They didn't even give me more colors!!! These colors have been there since Outlook Express 000.4!

Most of them are unusable. I cannot read a subject line if it's in AQUA.

I read the original post as how to set up 4 email addresses for 4 sites (domains) and I thought (possibly wrongly) that MS had reverted OE/WM/WLM to the setup it had back in OE4 that is many email accounts but only 1 domain send as option.

There is also the question that was Windows Mail not upgraded to Windows Live Mail?

Maybes I read it wrong but here are a couple of links;
