Domain Resolving Issues

Ok, I can WHOIS on networksolutions.com for my domain rosedaleirish.com . However, i CANNOT ping it from the command prompt on my machine. I also can't access the website by typing in the address. Im am able to connect via ftp, and into cpanel. Anyway, I registered it 2 days ago. Any advice or hints as to waht this could be?

Hi kobrien,

It works for me. I can ping it and see that you are on Dior.

I can also see the site in a browser the front page is green, black, and orange - has a calendar , a date february 08,2004 and picture of a float.

Your ISP has not updated its DNS tables. It can take up to 72 hours.

In the meantime you can try to flushing your DNS cache as well.

Noob question...flush DNS cache...Means what?

if you are running windoze its....

Start >> Run >> cmd ( Strike ENTER )

at command prompt type ipconfig /flushdns ( strike ENTER )

The next time you request the site - this will force your machine to go back to your ISP for the lasest DNS table entry.

But you may still be stuck for another 24 hours. It can take about that long for the entries to propagate.

Have faith it will work.

You just have to be patient. It all depends on your Internet Service Provider.
