Just signed up on 2/15, and submitted DNS transfer. Tried uploading website with Dreamweaver, but could not get the Remote Host part of the upload process to work. Reviewed help pages and followed instructions (FTP, 111.111.111.111 (replaced with actual DNS code), public_html/, username, password), but the test failed. Double and triple checked to no avail.

Is this problem because of the DNS code versus site name problem, or because it is Sunday? Any suggestions on how to resolve?

If you are using the proper IP address for the login, this shouldn't be happening. Please email supportsurpasshosting.com with the exact details of your login information, including the password you are using so we can test from our end and get this resolved for you.

Thanks

Well, apparently, we were using the client login username/password rather than the CPanel one. So, we have been able to upload the files, but now we cannot view them by typing in the IP address/default.html (http://xx.xxx.231.3/default.html). Is there a requirement to use "index.html" or is there some part of the address we are missing?

Also, we were able to access the site on your domain (http://flash.surpasshosting.com/~balance/), but not with our domain name, http://balancepointdarts.com (which we understand will take about one more day to resolve?), or the assigned IP address.

Thanks!

The IP is a shared IP address. You have to enter in the same format as you do for the flash.surpasshosting.com part. Just add the /~balance/ to the end of it and it will show up.

As for your domain, I looked up the whois, and it hasn't even been changed. You need to contact your registrar register.com and get them to change the nameservers to the ones we provided for you in the welcome emails. After that is done, it can take between 12-72 hours on average for it to resolve finally.
